Miley Cyrus Reveals the Exact Day She Decided to End Liam Hemsworth Marriage

Miley Cyrus has been uploading story after story from her “Used to Be Young” TikTok series and she’s now speaking about her split from Liam Hemsworth.

The pair were on-again/off-again for years after meeting on set and filming The Last Song together. They eventually got back together and married in 2018. In August of 2019, news of their split was made public.

“Glastonbury was in June [2019], which was when the decision happened that me and Liam’s commitment to being married just really came from, of course, a place of love first, because we’d been together for 10 years, but also from a place of trauma and just trying to rebuild as quickly as we could,” she said in the video.

The trauma and rebuild Miley could be referring to is her and Liam‘s house being destroyed by California wildfires in November 2018.

“The day of the [Glastonbury] show was the day I had decided it was no longer going to work in my life to be in that relationship,” she said. Miley added that she still performed, despite the major life decision. “So that was another moment where the work, the performance, the character came first. And I guess that’s why it’s now so important to me for that to not be the case, that the human comes first.”

Miley performed at Glastobury in June 2019, just 2 months before her split was made public.
