Coco Gauff won her first Grand Slam title in front of so many celebrity onlookers!

The 19-year-old tennis phenom emerged victorious in a match against competitor Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus to win the Women’s Singles Final during the 2023 US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Saturday (September 9).

She did so with the likes of Nicole Kidman, Amanda Seyfried, Diane Keaton and Ariana Debose cheering her on in the stands.

USA Teen Coco Gauff Wins US Open 2023, Captures First Grand Slam Title

USA’s Coco Gauff defeats Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus during their Women’s Singles Final match at the 2023 US Open tennis tournament at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Saturday (September 9) in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City.

The 19-year-old tennis phenom won her first Grand Slam title, coming back from a set down, winning 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. She’s the first teenager to win the US Open Women’s Singles title since Serena Williams in 1999.

Coco, who is from Delray Beach, Florida, will become the highest ranked American woman and reach a career high of #3 in the world. She’s the third American teen to win the US Open, after Serena in 1999 and Tracy Austin in 1979 and 1981.

Coco also collected $3 million in prize money. Incredible match from an incredible champion. Watch the highlights below!

Climate Change Protest at US Open Temporarily Delays Women's Semifinals

UPDATE: Coco Gauff beat Karolina Muchova in the match with a final score line of 6-4 7-5. She will play Madison Keys or Aryna Sabalenka in the finals on Saturday.

A climate change protest during the semifinal match against Coco Gauff and Karolina Muchova at the US Open on Thursday night (September 7) temporarily delayed the game.

According to ABC 7, multiple protesters were involved in a stunt that took place in the midst of the match at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.

Coco Gauff celebrates women’s tennis at the WTA 50th Anniversary Gala at The Ziegfeld Ballroom last week in New York City.

At the swanky soiree, the 19-year-old USA tennis sensation shared who her female inspirations are: “Definitely the Williams sisters. They’re my biggest inspiration when it comes to tennis and off court things as well with using your platforms and everything. Also Mrs. Michelle Obama. There’s also so many incredible women here in tennis that I also look up to.”

USA's Coco Gauff Wins Cincinnati Tennis Open, First Masters 1000 Tournament

Coco Gauff just won the biggest match of her career!

The 19-year-old American tennis superstar beat out Czech Republic’s Karolina Muchova during the women’s finals match at the 2023 Western & Southern Open on Sunday (August 20) held at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.

Coco beat out Karolina in two straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, to win her first Masters 1000 tournament.

She’s now the youngest player to win the tournament as well!

USA’s Coco Gauff Defeats World #1 Iga Swiatek at Cincinnati Tennis Open, Name Drops Cardi B

Coco Gauff is on fire!

The 19-year-old American tennis superstar outplayed world #1 Iga Swiatek from Poland in three sets, 7-6(2) 3-6 6-4 during the 2023 Western & Southern Open on Saturday (August 19) at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.

Coco had lost seven consecutive matches (14 sets) to Iga, 22, before Saturday’s match.

“Overall I knew I was playing better today,” Coco shared after the match. “It came down to the wire. I’m glad to play in front of the American crowd.”

She added, “I saw a quote. ‘Knock me down 9 times, get up 10.’ It’s a Cardi B song. So in this case, knock me down 7 times, get up 8.”

Tomorrow Coco plays her first WTA 1000 Final against Karolina Muchova (Czech Republic) or Aryna Sabalenka.

Tennis Star Coco Gauff Withdraws From Tokyo Olympics After Testing Positive for COVID-19

Coco Gauff has withdrawn from the upcoming 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

The 17-year-old tennis star was set to represent Team USA in the international athletic tournament in Japan, but has had to pull out after testing positive for COVID-19.
