4 TV Talk Show Premieres Postponed Due to the Hollywood Strikes & 1 That Isn't!

Television is continuing to struggle with original content about the Hollywood strikes.

As writers and actors continue to stand in solidarity with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes for fair pay and better working conditions, several TV shows have been pushed back and postponed that were planning on premiering for the fall season.

This week, several shows bowed out and confirmed they would be postponing their premieres as Hollywood stays on strike, while one went forward with its own premiere.

'The Talk' Postpones Premiere Amid Writer Strikes

The Talk is not coming back amid the Hollywood strikes, after all.

CBS confirmed in a statement on Sunday (September 17) that the daytime talk show will be pausing its season premiere, originally scheduled for Monday (September 18).

The Talk is pausing its season premiere scheduled for September 18. We will continue to evaluate plans for a new launch date,” a rep told Deadline.

Drew Barrymore Is Pausing Her Show's Premiere Amid Backlash

Drew Barrymore is issuing a new statement.

After posting and deleting an emotional video message about her decision to bring her show back amid the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes in Hollywood, the 48-year-old The Drew Barrymore Show host is now pausing production amid much backlash and criticism.

“I have listened to everyone, and I am making the decision to pause the show’s premiere until the strike is over,” she began in a statement posted to her social media Sunday (September 17).

Anna Kendrick and two fellow members of The Barden Bellas joined forces once again on the SAG-AFTRA picket line.

Fans might be worried about their favorite TV shows like The Voice, Dancing With the Stars, The Masked Singer and Bachelor Nation shows like The Bachelorette and new offshoot The Golden Bachelor amid the SAG-AFTRA strike.

If you don’t know, the actor’s union – which represents 160,000 movie and television actors – is striking against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. The AMPTP was formed to represent the studios, streaming services and broadcast networks in their labor negotiations with unions.
