Pamela Anderson Shares Emotional Reason She Cut Back Wearing Makeup, Says Decision was 'Freeing'

Pamela Anderson‘s brand of Hollywood glamour remains iconic in 2023. However, her makeup routine has changed quite a bit in recent years.

The 56-year-old celebrity is stripping back her makeup in favor of a more bare-faced beauty.

In a new interview, she described the decision as “freeing” but also shared the emotional reason that she ultimately made it.

Pamela told Elle that the death of her makeup artist Alexis Vogel largely brought an end to her signature look. “She was the best,” she said about the MUA. “And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it’s just better for me not to wear makeup.”

She stressed that the decision was “freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious too.”

There’s more to the decision, too: “Because I did notice that there were all these people doing big makeup looks, and it’s just like me to go against the grain and do the opposite what everyone’s doing,” she said. “I think we all start looking a little funny when we get older. And I’m kind of laughing at myself when I look at the mirror. I go, ‘Wow, this is really…what’s happening to me?’ It’s a journey.”

The icon also revealed a special connection to another beauty legend – Barbie.
