Angelina spoke out about her divorce from Brad in 2019, telling the French magazine Madame Figaro that the separation was “a complicated moment… I didn’t recognize myself anymore.

“I had lost myself a bit,” she said of their split, adding that she was in “period of transition, like a homecoming, a return to [herself].”

Angelina said that she was feeling “smaller, almost insignificant, even if it wasn’t necessarily obvious. I felt a deep and genuine sadness, I was hurt.”

However, she also recognized that she “reconnect with this humility and this insignificance… all these things settle in you and remind you of how lucky you are of being alive.”
