The stars are stepping out during New York Fashion Week!

Gigi Hadid, Priyanka Chopra, and Emily Ratajkowski all posed for photos on the pink carpet while arriving at the Victoria’s Secret Celebrates The Tour ’23 event held on Wednesday night (September 6) at The Manhattan Center in New York City.

Last month, Victoria’s Secret debuted their new campaign for their The Icons collection starring Gisele Bundchen, Naomi Campbell, Hailey Bieber, and tons of other models.

Earthquakes aren’t exactly rare in southern California, but the most recent one wasn’t what anyone was expecting.

A 5.0 magnitude quake hit the region on Sunday afternoon, at the same time that citizens in the area are bracing for a big impact from Hurricane Hilary.

For today, it’s expected that the southern California “will experience the strongest portion of wind and rain. Heavy rainfall is expected in some areas and there will be strong winds.”

Since the earthquake happened, many celebs, including Nicki Minaj, Josh Gad, Brooke Shields and more have reacted to having both natural occurrences happen at the same time.

Brooke Shields is sharing her true thoughts on her daughter Grier Henchy getting into the modeling business.

Earlier this week, the 58-year-old actress appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark where she opened up about her 17-year-old daughter’s blossoming modeling career.

During the interview, Brooke explained why she “fought” against her daughter getting into the business.

“The rules have changed since I was [a model],” Brooke started.

She went on to say that Grier has been doing “little things here and there,” but admitted that she really didn’t want her daughter to become a runway model.

“I fought it for so long,” Brooke said. “It’s such a different industry now than it was.”

Brooke noted that there are added pressures that today’s models have to face, saying, “We didn’t have social media when I was a model,” adding that the industry has become “a rat race.”

When she was younger, Brooke focused on print modeling and didn’t walk in runway shows, and she fears for “ridiculously stunning” Grier who has been “interested in runway.”

“That’s brutal and backstage is just brutal,” Brooke said. “I never did runway, I don’t think I would’ve been able to handle it.”

Eventually, Brooke “had to give in” to her daughter, but she has set some very strict ground rules.

“‘You are going to have a great work ethic, it’s not going to be comfortable, and you’re going to listen to me, those are my rules,’” Brooke recalled telling Grier, adding that her daughter must also still enroll in college.

Along with Grier, Brooke shares daughter Rowan, 20, with husband Chris Henchy.

Drew asked, “How did you feel about the Me Too Movement in the sense of, I didn’t feel like I had a dog in that race, I didn’t feel like I could speak to it because I experienced so many things that were so inappropriate at such a young age that I’m so confused about what was I accountable for, what did I put myself into…we were children. How did that movement affect you, did you feel like you could speak to it?”

Brooke responded, “No, because I didn’t know where I fell on the spectrum of it. I don’t know where to interpret my experiences because I was made to feel culpable, and by the same time, you victim shame yourself, but we were so young and it was appropriate that we just, I couldn’t feel sorry, I didn’t know what it was, I didn’t know, and so when it was called out to me as such I was like, ‘No, not going there. It did not happen.’”

“That’s exactly how I felt,” Drew said. “I felt like I couldn’t speak to the movement and I was so happy it was happening but I felt like I experienced too many things that were so gray and so awkward and that I didn’t know were wrong at the time, I guess as an adult with hindsight, as a mother of daughters.”

Brooke added, “As a mother with daughters I think that’s what helps with the perspective of it. But the ownership of it, or the ownership of the reality of it, that never was in my, I did not know how to handle any of that so I just pushed it under the rug.”

Brooke Shields is opening up about the awkward date she went on with John F. Kennedy Jr. and how she “showed his true colors” after she wouldn’t sleep with him.

The former Suddenly Susan actress, now 57, has been opening up about her past while promoting her new Hulu documentary Pretty Baby.

During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show this week, Brooke talked about going on a date with JFK Jr. while in Aspen, Coloardo.

“I was so madly in love with him since the time I was like three. My mom would say, ‘That’s the boy you’re going to marry,’” Brooke said.

Brooke ended up meeting John a few decades later and they went on a ski date.

“I had to get ski lifted out because I went into the trees,” Brooke recalled. “And he didn’t help me, but I was like, ‘It’s okay. He can’t help me. He’s John John.’”

“He kept saying I look like his mother, which is really interesting, and a compliment, [but] I was like, ‘I don’t know how to feel about this.’ And then we did have a real date,” she said.

Brooke joined JFK Jr. at a night out with more Kennedys at a rowdy pub.

“He said, ‘Do you want to get out of here?’ And I was like, ‘Uh, yeah, I do want to get out of here, John Kennedy.’ He kissed me, and it was like the best kiss I’ve ever had in my life,” she said. “It was beyond not-disappointing. The lips are beautiful, and the face is amazing … and he was down to earth and funny and irreverent.”

Brooke explained why she decided not to sleep with him though.

“I froze though, because it was so precious to me and I was like, ‘Oh my god, you’re falling in love and if you sleep with him, he may not talk to you again and you can’t handle that.’ I wasn’t playing a game. I really was just, I was so afraid of being really hurt because if I slept with him I would’ve given him my entire universe,” she said. “I had to get a cab home, which was a little less than chivalrous in my opinion.”

“I saw him the next day on the slope and he didn’t look at me and he didn’t talk to me,” Brooke added. “On the one hand, I was like ‘sh-t!’ On the other hand, I was like, ‘Thank God … He showed his true colors.’”

Brooke also just opened up about losing her virginity to a famous actor, who wasn’t famous at the time.

“I wanted to jump into the personal relationship and the love and the commitment,” Brooke said in the doc. “The part he was more comfortable with was the sexual part and I wasn’t, so we had to teach each other about the other.”

Brooke said “the stakes were so unnaturally high” that night because of all the media attention surrounding her virginity and how she was sexualized by the media from a young age.

“When we finally had sex, I immediately ran out of the room, down the hall, butt naked, just running. I didn’t know where I was going,” Brooke said in the doc.

“[Dean] ran after me with the duvet and grabbed a hold of me and said, ‘Where are you going?’ He said ‘I’m not going anywhere, I’m not leaving you, you’re the same person.’ He got it immediately and I just cried,” she said.

She added, “I feel bad for that girl. She was old enough to own her own body, for real. And I just couldn’t get there at that moment… What it boils down to is a sort of a regret for lost exploration and opportunity to understand my personal sexuality.”

Brooke recently explained why she sent Dean an apology note.

Brooke Shields has her family by her side for the premiere of her documentary Pretty Baby!

The 57-year-old actress was joined by husband Chris Henchy and their 16-year-old daughter Grier for the premiere on Wednesday night (March 29) at Alice Tully Hall in New York City.

Brooke also received support from friends Debra Messing and Mariska Hargitay, as well as Ali Wentworth, who is one of the film’s producers.

Pretty Baby “is a galvanizing look at actor, model and icon Brooke Shields as she transforms from a sexualized young girl to a woman discovering her power. Holding a mirror up to a society that objectifies women and girls, her story shows the perils and triumphs of gaining agency in a hostile world.”

The two-part documentary premieres on Hulu on April 3.

Brooke Shields looked back at her guest spot on Friends in the ’90s and spoke very candidly about one moment that darkened her memory of the otherwise enjoyable cameo.

The 57-year-old model played a character who was obsessed with Matt LeBlanc‘s character Joey when she appeared on the second season of the show in 1996.

In a new interview, she described how her instincts for the character led to a starring role in Suddenly Susan later that year. She also spoke very candidly about the “petulant” way her then-boyfriend, tennis star Andre Agassi, responded to the role.

Speaking to The New Yorker, Brooke recalled that Andre “stormed out” after she licked Matt‘s fingers in a scene.

“In the scene, I’m supposed to lick Joey’s fingers, because they’re the hands of a genius, and I want to devour them, and I’m a nut,” she recalled, adding that her co-star was “cute” about it.

She remembered them joking about Matt washing his hands and her having a mint. According to Brooke, Andre was not having as good of a time as they were.

“Andre was in the audience supporting me, and he stormed out. He said, ‘Everybody’s making fun of me. You made a fool of me by that behavior.’ I’m, like, ‘It’s comedy! What is the matter with you,’” she said.

Apparently, Andre went home and “smashed all of his trophies” in response. Brooke also shared what might have been the root of the problem there.

“I learned later that he was addicted to crystal meth at that point, so that irrational behavior I’m sure had something to do with that,” she said.

“It was petulant behavior,” she added. “It co-opted [the moment] for me emotionally, because all of a sudden then my focus went to him.”

Brooke also described a moment where she convinced TV execs that she had the acting chops for a bigger role. She recollected that there were hesitations for her to play the character so large. One thing in particular was a crazed laugh that she rehearsed.

“I throw my head back in this cackle,” she explained. “We had done it in rehearsal, and they said, ‘It’s too crazy. Don’t do it.’ And I begged for it. ‘It’s so funny. It just makes her crazier. And she’s pretty, so she needs to really be crazy.’ And they were, like, ‘No, no.’”

They later saw that she was right: “We did the first take, and it was fine. And then the second take, they scream, ‘Shields! Put it back in!’ All of a sudden, the energy changed, and all these men in suits started coming into the studio. The next day, I was asked if I wanted to do my own television show.”

“We had a great relationship, broke up, got back together again after three years. And that should have been a delicious time for me of reveling in it and feeling proud and free because I was in love,” she told People. “But it was as if I was just paralyzed from shame, thinking everybody was going to know, thinking of letting my fans down because I had professed one thing.”

At the time of their relationship, Dean was a football player at Princeton, years before he became an actor.

“He just was so loyal and loving and just so in love. And I did not make it easy,” Brooke said.

Brooke says that a few years ago, she apologized to Dean for not enjoying the moment during their relationship.

“I said, ‘I’m sorry for you, and I’m really sorry for me,’” she said.

While at a low point in her career and desperate for work, she was invited by a powerful Hollywood executive to make a call for a cab from his hotel room where he assaulted her.

“I didn’t fight, I just froze,” she recalls in the documentary.

“No one is going to believe me. People weren’t believing those stories back then. I thought I would never work again,” Brooke said she was thinking at the time.

“Doing the documentary, you see it all together, and it’s a miracle that I survived,” she told People.

At the time, she says she actually blamed herself for the assault. “I kept saying, ‘I shouldn’t have done that. Why did I go up with him? I shouldn’t have had that drink at dinner,’ ” Brooke said.

“It was really easy to disassociate because by then it was old hat,” Brooke said of how she coped. “And because it was a fight-or-flight type of choice. Fight was not an option, so you just leave your body. ‘You’re not there. It didn’t happen.’ ”

Brooke is now sharing her story “with the hopes of helping people not feel alone.”

“Everybody processes their own trauma on a different timeline. I want to be an advocate for women to be able to speak their truth,” she concluded.

Brooke Shields is getting candid about her rape in her new Pretty Baby documentary, which premiered over the weekend at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.

The actress, now 57, revealed that her sexual assault happened just after she graduated from Princeton University.

In an additional interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Brooke opened up about why she chose to go into more detail about it now.

In the the movie, Brooke revealed that it occurred in 1987, just shortly after her graduation and she was struggling to find acting work. She then turned to an acquaintance to discuss a possible movie role (via Parade).

“I thought it was a work meeting,” she explained in the documentary. “I had met this person before and he was always nice to me.”

However, during their dinner meeting, “his behavior was changing and there was no talk about the movie.”

Brooke then shared that after their dinner concluded, she was ready to call a cab and go home. However, the acquaintance suggested that they go to his hotel room for more discussion.

“I go up to his hotel room and he disappears for a while,” she recalled, before revealing that once he came back into the room, he was naked and threw himself on her. “It was like wrestling. I was afraid I would get choked out or something, I didn’t know. I played the scene out in my head, so I didn’t fight that much. … I just absolutely froze. I just thought, ‘Stay alive and get out.’ ”

As the assault and rape happened, Brooke “just shut it out, and God knows I knew how to be dissociated from my body. I practiced that (as a model).”

Speaking with THR at the premiere over the weekend, Brooke touched on the rape reveal in the film, and shared why she chose to share her experience in the doc.

“I did not know if or when or if at all I was ever going to bring this up,” she said. “It has taken me many years of therapy to even be able to talk about it. I definitely have worked very hard through it, and I’ve learned to process it.”

Brooke went on, saying that she’s now “come to a place, and we’ve come to a time in our society, where we can talk about these things much more openly. I had no idea I was going to say it.”

“I thought, I have arrived at this place, and I feel as a mother of two young girls that I hope that just by even hearing my incident that I can add myself to becoming an advocate,” she added. “Because this is something that does happen every day, and it should not be happening. I felt that I had arrived at a place where I could talk about it. It’s taken me a long time.”

Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins are looking back on filming The Blue Lagoon.

The former co-stars were just 14 and 18-years-old when they made the movie, which is more controversial now than it was then.

Brooke brought Chris on her podcast for a chat about the movie, and both were in agreement that a film like it wouldn’t be made today.

“Never again will a movie be made like that,” she shared on the program. “It wouldn’t be allowed…Animals were hurt in the movie. We were spearing fish and all kinds of crazy things. Children are naked running down a beach.”

Chris and Brooke also recalled that the studio were hoping to spark an real life relationship between them off the screen, in hopes of promoting the movie more.

“They wanted so desperately for us to fall in love with each other,” Brooke says, adding that she wasn’t comfortable “being forced into feeling anything.”

Chris added, “Which was probably great for the film because that’s what it was all about. You have to admit the chemistry between us was just amazing. There were a lot of great, great moments that went on there, and I think it was a lot of that innocence that came off in the film that made it work even more.”

He also spoke about feeling strange about being mostly naked in the movie, and in front of Brooke.

“After that movie it was hard to keep my clothes on,” he said. “There were scenes where I was butt naked with you, if you remember, sliding down that slide and things like that. And that was a little awkward, but it was kind of funny for me because at this point in time I would just do it. But your reaction was (makes annoying sounds).”

In the 1981 interview, Brooke said Barbara Walters, “asked me what my measurements were. And asked me to stand up.”

“And I stand up and she’s like comparing herself to this little girl and I thought, ‘There – this isn’t right. I don’t understand what this is.’ But I…behaved and just smiled and felt like so taken advantage of in so many ways,” Brooke said to Drew Barrymore.

Drew shared about one interview with Barbara when she was young as well. “You know what’s so interesting, I just rewatched…I watched this interview that her and I did and I was in my early twenties and she would not relent. She was like, ‘Talk to me about the drugs and alcohol, talk to me about your mother, talk to me about bisexuality, talk to me about everything,’ and I kept saying, ‘You know Barbara I’m really doing well,’ and it was five, six, seven times over,” Drew said.

Both Brooke and Drew both said they admired Barbara Walters for her career, but noted those interviews with her were inappropriate.

Brooke also recently shared about regretting being so open about her virginity.

“I mean, I think it was, in hindsight, a bit of a mistake for me to be so open about my virginity because it never left me alone,” she said.

She first revealed it in her 1985 book, On Your Own, which provided health and beauty advice for college-bound women.

“I would get a lot of fan mail from kids saying, “Oh, my boyfriend’s pressuring me, and I don’t want to have sex. What do I do?’ My narrative was, ‘You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to,’” she recalled.

However, she would end up getting “creepy” questions from men for years to come.

“I became the most famous virgin in the world. To be in the line of fire at such a young age in that way, I gained a resilience, and it set me up to be ready for anything in this industry, which can be difficult,” she went on to say.

Ryan Reynolds hits the red carpet with Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer for the premiere of their new holiday film, Spirited.

Speaking with ET at the premiere, Ryan opened up about learning to sing and dance for the Apple TV+ movie.

“As I’ve gotten older I’m more comfortable sucking at stuff. I really do believe that you can’t really be good at something unless you’re willing to suck at it,” he shared.

Ryan added some tips about the dancing, too: “Just start off slow, and then you move onto smooth, and then you can start to go fast. We just were patient.”

The 57-year-old Blue Lagoon actress shared her Beauty Secrets as part of Vogue‘s ongoing beauty series.

At the beginning of her video, Brooke revealed that she was using the True Botanicals Renew Nourishing Cleanser, which is available at Nordstrom for $48.

“I’m not afraid to put it everywhere. I like this cleanser because it gets all the dirt. It doesn’t have any residue, but it also is really gentle on my skin,” she began.

Brooke Shields enjoyed a nice day out with her daughters this week!

The 56-year-old Lipstick Jungle actress was joined by Grier, 19, and Rowan, 16, while attending the launch of the FashionPhile showroom on Thursday (May 26) in New York City.

FashionPhile is the leading pre-owned re-commerce company focused exclusively on ultra-luxury handbags and accessories and the brand just opened its 60,000-square-foot authentication center and showroom in the Starrett-Lehigh building in West Chelsea.

During the event, Brooke opened up to ET about advice she has for her daughters.

“You know what I always say,” she said. “I always say, make sure that you find a vocation that you absolutely love, and do it the hardest, work the hardest at it. Start wherever you’re allowed to, wherever you’re invited and work as hard as you can. No job is too small, and stay focused on what you love and what you want to do.”
