The 33-year-old actress and activist hit the red carpet with Kaia Gerber and Emma Corrin, as well as her younger brother, Alex Watson, for the second annual event held at DUMBO House on Thursday night (September 7) in New York City.

Paul Mescal, Haley Lu Richardson, Alan Cumming, Oscar Isaac and wife, Elvina Lind, And Just Like That‘s Karen Pittman, Mae Martin, Evan Mock, designer Thom Browne, The Bear‘s Ayo Edebiri, Daniel Kaluuya, and Julia Fox were also spotted at the event.

Launched in 2022, the Soho House Awards are designed to recognize and spotlight the incredible work of creative talents across the private club’s members.

According to the club, the awards also act as a platform for everyone to be celebrated and championed equally for their work, career trajectories and contributions to their respective industries.

Daniel Kaluuya almost didn’t make the cut for Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the film’s producers Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and co-director Kemp Powers discussed their decision to cast the 34-year-old actor in the movie and revealed why his character Spider-Punk was almost cut from the film.

“Some people were like, ‘Is there a way to simplify this? There’s so many characters. Do we really need Spider-Punk?’” Chris said. “But once we got to know Daniel, we rewrote the part so it became more necessary.”

“He was in and out of the picture for a little while,” Phil noted. “We weren’t sure which elements we were going to stick in this part and which were going to migrate to the next movie.”

But Phil added that after meeting Daniel, the team “realized that he had to be Hobie Brown, no matter the cost. And Hobie had to be in the movie because that personality needed to be part of the story.”

Kemp went on to say that the actor was actually used as a reference point when creating early mock-ups of the character, so once he was officially cast in the role, adjusting the animation to fit his voice was fairly straightforward.

“As we were doing visual development on the character, we were actually using audio clips of interviews with Daniel Kaluuya,” Kemp said. “Daniel Kaluuya’s natural speaking voice was right in the pocket of that effortless cool we envisioned the Hobie character having from the beginning.”

A new Barney movie is in the works and it’s going to be geared for adults.

It was previously announced that Oscar winner Daniel Kaluuya will star in the upcoming film and he’s also signed on as a producer.

The movie was originally announced in 2019 and Daniel revealed last year that the movie is going to be “heartbreaking.”

Now a Mattel exec is opening up about the movie in advance of the Barbie movie hitting theaters.

“We’re leaning into the millennial angst of the property rather than fine-tuning this for kids,” executive Kevin McKeon told The New Yorker. “It’s really a play for adults. Not that it’s R-rated, but it’ll focus on some of the trials and tribulations of being thirtysomething, growing up with Barney—just the level of disenchantment within the generation.”

The movie is going to be an “A24-type” project and will be “surrealistic.” It’s being compared to the films of directors Charlie Kaufman and Spike Jonze.

A Barney docu-series was released last year and it explored the dark side of the kids show.

The 29-year-old actress, who is currently pregnant with her first child, stepped out for the 2023 AFI Awards Luncheon on Friday afternoon (January 13) at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Keke was joined at the event by Nope director Jordan Peele and co-star Daniel Kaluuya to celebrate the film’s spot on AFI’s list of the Top 10 Movies of the Year.

The 45-year-old rapper attended and walked in the Balenciaga Spring/Summer fashion show on Sunday (October 2) in France amid Paris Fashion Week.

He arrived to the show with his and Kim Kardashian’s children, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4 and Psalm, 3, prior to the start of the show.

His oldest daughter, North West, 9, and her aunts Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner were also in attendance.

Kanye West‘s appearance was a surprise, as was the show itself.

So, what’s the hidden meaning? NOPE is an acronym for “Not of Planet Earth,” which is another way to describe a UFO.

“I know you did not think, ya know, Not of Planet Earth. But what did you think when people came with that theory? Weren’t you gagged?” Keke said.

Jordan replied, “What you talking about I didn’t think of that?” Keke said, “Oh you did? That was what you meant?”

Jordan continued, “Well, yeah. I mean, look, there is… I was trying to let people figure that one out for themselves, you know? So I wasn’t leaning into that, but the cat’s out of the bag, you know. We are talking about a UFO here. And it is not of planet earth. And it also, of course, refers to how Black people would- what we would say if we saw a UFO- nope. It’s, like, nope. No extraterrestrial.”

Keke started clapping and responded, “The kids are going to live for that.”

Daniel Kaluuya is providing an update about the Barney movie.

The 33-year-old Get Out actor, who is producing a film based on the iconic TV series based on the character Barney the Dinosaur, spoke out in a recent interview about the “heartbreaking” movie he’s preparing.

During a conversation with THR, Daniel spoke about the movie, which is being produced by his company, 59%. The film is still very early in development, and the script is being reworked.

“But there are a whole lot of things that I do as a man. I love kids’ films. How did everyone get into films? Watching kids’ films. I don’t want to restrict myself to the limitations of what I’m perceived as.”

He also previously teased that the film is “heartbreaking.”

“Barney taught us, ‘I love you, you love me. Won’t you say you love me too?’ That’s one of the first songs I remember, and what happens when that isn’t true? I thought that was really heartbreaking.
