Emmys 2023 Date Changed: Show Moves to January 2024

The 2023 Emmy Awards have officially been shifted to 2024.

Due to the ongoing actors’ and writers’ strikes that have been ongoing for weeks, the Television Academy and Fox (the Emmys broadcaster) decided to push the show from September 2023 until January 2024.

Emmy Awards 2023 Postponed, Possibly Into 2024, Amid Actors & Writers Strikes

The nominees for the 2023 Emmy Awards will be waiting a while to find out if they are winners.

The 75th Primetime Emmys ceremony was originally scheduled to take place on September 18, but now the event is being postponed amid the Actors Strike and the Writers Strike.

If the Emmys kept its air date and the strikes were still going on, no celebrities would be in attendance as actors and writers are not allowed to promote their past, current, or future projects as of this time.

Pedro Pascal Got 3 Emmy Nominations This Year & It's The First Time He's Ever Been Nominated!

It’s going to be a big night for Pedro Pascal at the 2023 Emmy Awards as he’s up for three awards.

Pedro has never been nominated for an Emmy before, but now he has three nominations to his name and they are all for different projects.

Emmy Nominations 2023 - Full List of Nominees Revealed!

The 2023 Emmy Awards nominations are finally here!

Yvette Nicole Brown and Academy chair Frank Scherma announced the nominations this morning (July 12) and it’s streaming now for everyone to check out.

In order to be eligible for this year’s awards, TV shows needed to air between June 1, 2022 and May 31, 2023.

We have the full list here for you to see if your faves received a nomination! Sound off in the comments with your thoughts on this year’s nods.

The 2023 Emmys are currently set to air live from the Peacock Theater on Monday, September 18, from 5-8 p.m. PT/ 8-11 p.m. ET on Fox, with the Creative Arts ceremonies set for September 9 and 10. A host has not yet been revealed.

Emmy Awards 2023 - Watch the Nominees Being Announced Live!

The 2023 Emmys nominations are coming!

The nominations announcement for the 75th Emmy Awards is happening today (Wednesday, July 12), and will be delivered by Yvette Nicole Brown and Academy chair Frank Scherma during a live virtual ceremony at 8:30 a.m. PT/11:30 a.m. ET.

“It’s been another transformational year in this platinum age of television that has delivered a diverse range of extraordinary programming. We are delighted to have Yvette help us celebrate our 75th anniversary as we honor the exceptional shows, innovators, storytellers and talent whose work has entertained and connected us this season,” Frank said.

Only One 'Stranger Things' Actor Will Be Eligible for Awards at the 2023 Emmy Awards

Stranger Things‘ fourth season was split into two parts and the first part fell into the eligibility window for the 2022 Emmy Awards while the second part is in the eligibility window for the 2023 show.

Only one actor from the show is eligible for awards consideration this year though.

Why?

The Emmys have a rule that a series must have six episodes or more in a season to be eligible for the Drama Series category or the main series acting categories. Part one had seven episodes while part two only had two episodes.
