The concept of the Song of the Summer has become omnipresent in recent years, but Billboard has been tracking the data since 1958.

As the weather heats up outside, many of our favorite artists begin to churn out bops and bangers that rocket up the charts. Each year, only one of them can become the defining anthem of the summer.

Billboard unveiled the Song of the Summer for 2023 on Tuesday (September 5). This year Morgan Wallen‘s “Last Night” took the top spot.

In honor of the announcement, we looked back on Billboard’s charts to determine what song dominated the charts each summer from 2003 until 2023. We even noted the bop that came in second place each year! In the case of 2023, we rounded up the Top 5.

Who Should Britney Spears Collaborate With Next? Vote For Your Choice in Our Poll!

Britney Spears appears to be making a musical comeback, and we want to know who you think she should work with next.

The 41-year-old Princes of Pop hasn’t released an album since Glory in 2016. However, she returned to the charts (and made history) alongside Elton John with their hit “Hold Me Closer” in 2022. Now, she is reunited with “Scream & Shout” collaborator Will.i.am to drop a new song called “Mind Your Business.”

These singles got us thinking, and we started putting together a list of artists that we would love to see Britney duet with in the future. Should she hop in the studio with Rihanna? What about Lady Gaga or Ariana Grande or Dua Lipa?

She has even previously expressed interest in working with Justin Timberlake again, and we can totally picture a second Madonna duet! That’s barely scratching the surface of viable options.

Frankly, there are too many for us to choose from. So we put together a poll and that’s where you come in!
