Lena Dunham's Reps Deny Donald Glover's Claim She Used Racial Slur on 'Girls' Set, Donald Glover Confirms It Was a Joke

Lena Dunham‘s reps have responded to a joke told by Donald Glover at this past weekend’s WGA Awards.

At the show, Donald presented Atlanta executive producer Paul Simms with an honorary award named the Sargent Award. The Sargent Award is named after former SNL writer Herb Sargent.

In his speech, Donald kicked things off with, “Chevy Chase once called Herb one of the funniest writers working in television. Chevy Chase once called me….You know what? This is about Paul.”

He continued about Paul Simms, “I was on the set of Girls after filming a sex scene for like eight hours, which they cut down to two minutes. I’ve never seen any of the rest of that footage. I asked Lena [Dunham], ‘Hey, what made you decide to work with Paul [Simms, an executive producer on Girls]?’ And she goes ‘Honestly, this N— lets me do whatever I want.’ And I remember thinking two things. One, Lena is using the N-word extremely liberally. Who does she think she is, Chevy Chase? And two, that’s the kind of producer I want.”

Now, Lena‘s reps are issuing a response to these statements.

Chevy Chase Recovering at Home After a Five-Week Hospital Stay

Chevy Chase is back home.

ET reports that the 77-year-old actor is recuperating at his home in Westchester, NY after a five-week stay in the hospital due to undisclosed issues with his heart.

Chevy said he’d be home for a few days and added, “I can only say how happy I am to now be back with my family. I’m feeling good.”

“I was in the hospital five weeks. A heart issue. So, for now, I’m around the house. Not going anywhere,” he continued.

Chevy also said he’s been using the time to read and keep up with the news, though he’s not the biggest fan of what he sees on TV.

“All dreck. I see actors, comedians, producers, screenwriters working and, God bless them, but I don’t see anything great on television,” he said.

“It all became a generation of sh-theads laughing at the world. The humour today’s giving the next generation worse stuff than they already have in their own lives. It drives me nuts.”

The outspoken comedian has landed in hot water for his comments on current TV in the past. In in 2018, Pete Davidson called Chevy out about some shady things he had said about SNL.

Pete is currently a cast member on SNL.

Chevy Chase Slams Current Day 'SNL,' Gets Brutally Honest Talking About Will Ferrell, Tina Fey & More

Former Saturday Night Live original cast member Chevy Chase is slamming the current state of the show and giving his opinion on some of the show’s most beloved cast members like Tina Fey and Will Ferrell.

Here are some highlights from the 74-year-old comedian’s interview…

On what he thinks of SNL today: “First of all, between you and me and a lamppost, jeez, I don’t want to put down Lorne or the cast, but I’ll just say, maybe off the record, I’m amazed that Lorne has gone so low. I had to watch a little of it, and I just couldn’t f—— believe it…That means a whole generation of shitheads laughs at the worst f—— humor in the world. You know what I mean? How could you dare give that generation worse sh*t than they already have in their lives? It just drives me nuts.”

On Will Ferrell and his George W. Bush impression on the show: “Just not funny. Makes $25 million a picture.”

On Tina Fey: “I liked Tina. I didn’t see what all the folderol was about. She was good.”

On Kristen Wiig: “I liked her a lot. She had two things going for her. She had clear-cut chops, and she was pretty, too. But what happened to her? Where did she go?”

On Eddie Murphy: “I thought Eddie Murphy was funny. Gumby. I found that funny and people loved that. . . . Stevie Wonder, he did well. [Pause.] It’s not that hard, for Christ’s sake. Your skin’s the same color. You just put on some sunglasses and do this.”
