Kansas City Chiefs Linebackers Coach Britt Reid Admitted To Drinking & Driving Before Car Crash

Britt Reid, the Linebackers coach for the Kansas City Chiefs, has been involved in a car accident.

According to reports, the coach and son of the Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, was involved in a multi-vehicle car crash on Thursday (February 4).

The crash took place just after a Chevrolet Impala ran out of gas on an entrance ramp to I-435. While another car came to assist the Impala, Britt‘s truck struck both the cars and he admitted he was drinking and driving.

The Chiefs released a statement after the report came out about the crash.

“The organization has been made aware of a multi-vehicle accident involving Outside Linebackers Coach, Britt Reid,” it read. “We are in the process of gathering information, and we will have no further comment at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved.”

Local station 41 Action News said that a 5-year-old child in the backseat of the second car suffered life-threatening injuries, and a 4-year-old child in the same car suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Britt admitted to the police that he’d had two to three drinks before the collision, and was then taken to a local hospital, where a blood test was conducted.

The Kansas City Chiefs are set to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Bowl LV this weekend. It’s unclear if Britt will be joining them.

Two other Chiefs players might not be able to play.
